Germany vs Portugal: Nations League semi-final, kick-off time

The highly anticipated match pits two former champions against each other in a highly competitive encounter, especially given the two teams’ differing circumstances and technical approaches.

Germany advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Italy 5-4 on aggregate, in a thrilling series that included a 2-1 victory in Milan, before things got complicated in the second leg despite qualifying.

The German team will be without Antonio Rüdiger and Angelo Stieglier due to injury, while Marc-André ter Stegen returns in goal after a long absence with Barcelona.

On the other hand, Portugal enters the match with a fully-fledged squad led by coach Roberto Martinez, and with the presence of legendary star Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to represent his country internationally despite reaching the age of 40, amid speculation about his future at club level.

Portugal were eliminated from Euro 2024 by France on penalties, but have shown a balanced performance in subsequent friendlies. However, their attacking performance remains questionable, especially given Martinez’s continued reliance on Ronaldo as the primary striker.

Several players in Portugal’s squad were part of the squad that participated in the recent Champions League final, also held at the Allianz Arena, such as Vitinha, João Neves, and Nuno Mendes, which could leave a physical impact on them.
