Southampton vs Man City: Prediction, kick-off time

Manchester City meets Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the 36th round of the English Premier League.

Manchester City are third in the Premier League table with 64 points, three points behind second-placed Arsenal. They are looking to secure their fifth consecutive win in the competition and take another step towards securing qualification for next season’s Champions League, while also pouncing on second place. They are waiting for the outcome of the match between Liverpool, which includes Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, and Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Southampton, on the other hand, are 20th and last in the table with 11 points, and despite their relegation to the Championship already confirmed, they will be looking to pick up just one point from their final three matches to avoid equaling the worst points total in Premier League history, set by Derby County in the 2007-08 season.

Date, kick-off time and venue
Southampton vs Man City is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off today, Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The match will take place at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Southampton vs Man City prediction
If Southampton are to pick up the last point they need this season, it is not likely to come from Man City. Guardiola’s side look to be back to their best, enjoying a run of five wins in all competitions with three clean sheets.

Saints, on the other hand, have been rock bottom in the standings since November and have picked up just two points since Valentine’s Day. The most stark of those results came last time out in a 2-0 defeat at Leicester, also already relegated. With City more motivated than ever, they should not have much trouble at St. Mary’s.

Man City to win, 4-0

Head to head (h2h) history and results
The Saints last beat Man City in 2023, pulling off a major upset in the League Cup quarter-finals. In the Premier League, though, City have lost to Southampton just twice since 2013.

Southampton wins: 30

Man City wins: 35

Draws: 23
