Rubén Amorim, Manchester United’s manager, is looking to achieve a victory to restore confidence before the anticipated European match against Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final next Thursday.
Amorim is looking to win the Europa League title, salvage Manchester United’s season, and make up for the loss to his fans after his team’s failure in all domestic competitions in England.
Manchester United lost the first leg 3-0 to Bournemouth and are aiming to exact revenge on the hosts in today’s match, despite the difficulty of the encounter, especially as the latter are seeking a European spot with five rounds remaining in the English Premier League.
Speaking about the match against Bournemouth, Amorim highlighted the importance of achieving victory before the European match against Bilbao, especially since the team suffered a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last Sunday. He explained that he will choose the best possible lineup.
The Portuguese coach said, “We must have a sense of the importance of every game we play. We need to win every game, and it is important that everyone has a sense of the importance of not losing.”
He added, “Our current situation is no secret, but we want to go into this match with the best possible lineup. We have had a full week to prepare for the match, and some players did not participate against Wolverhampton, so I will try to manage the match in a way that will qualify us to win.”
